Student Service & Leadership
-
Student Council is an organization of students dedicated to fostering school spirit and taking on responsibilities to enhance school functions and student life.
Elected leaders:
gain responsibility
experience working as a team
increase pride in our school
interact with fellow students.
-
Together with their families, students in grades 6-8 seek out opportunities to serve the greater community outside of the school day.
Hours obtained are reported and recorded by the homeroom/religion teacher. Each student writes a reflection regarding the transformative experience gained in the act of service.

All of our older students are assigned a younger “buddy” that they help take care of throughout the year.
They participate in activities together, read together, and help encourage each other.

Saint Clare School uses the Silver Box Program to shape our behavioral expectations. Silver Boxes are built on this quote from Ephesians (4:29):
“Do not use harmful words but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you.”
-Ephesians, 4:29
All school communication is designed around the use of Silver Box language. Students are expected to use this type of positive language whenever possible.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to give students, and each other, Silver Box compliments.
Every Wednesday at our Morning Assembly, three students from each class are recognized by their teacher for their Silver Box behavior.
Once per month, students who receive Silver Box recognition have their picture taken and displayed on the school hall walls.
