Tuition
Tuition and fee structures, amounts, percentages, policies and/or requirements are reviewed annually and adjusted each year.
Saint Clare School relies on tuition and fees paid by its families for its operation. As such, we ask families to honor their financial commitments to the school so that we can continue to provide students with an unparalleled Catholic education.
Tuition for the 2026/2027 school year across all grades is

Discounts
In order to receive discount(s) for the 2026-2027 school year, the family account must be current for the 2025-2026 school year. Saint Clare School reserves the right to amend the tuition agreement for 2026-2027 in the event tuition or fees are outstanding as of May 29, 2026.
Catholic-Parish Discount
The Catholic-Parish Discount is $750 off per student.
Saint Clare School is a mission of Saint Clare Parish and the Diocese of San Jose. Families who actively participate in the faith life of a Catholic parish within the Diocese of San Jose may be eligible for a Catholic-Parish Tuition Discount. Active participation includes ongoing involvement in the liturgical and ministerial life of the parish. This includes:
• Regular Sunday Mass attendance
• Participation in parish ministries
• Financial stewardship that supports the life of the parish through weekly offertory envelopes and/or recurring online donations.
To qualify for the Catholic-Parish Discount, families must provide evidence of:
• Active participation in parish ministries (e.g., music ministry, lector, usher, Bible study, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, or other parish committees)
• Annual Diocesan Appeal contribution (when applicable)
• Parish offertory statement
Participation is reviewed annually. All documentation must be submitted with the signed tuition agreement. Tuition rates will be adjusted if a family is deemed ineligible.
Sibling Discount
Saint Clare School offers discounts to families who enroll multiple students at any grade level.
The Non-Catholic Sibling discount is $1,000 off for 2 students, $1,500 off for 3 students, and $2,000 off for 4 students.
The Catholic-Parish Sibling discount is $2,500 off for 2 students, $3,750 off for 3 students, and $5,000 off for 4 students.
Re-Enrollment Fees
All returning families are assessed the Re-Enrollment Installment, equal to the first installment amount, or 10% of the tuition rate per student. The Re-Enrollment Installment is assessed the February prior to the following school year to allow the school to budget for staffing and to purchase textbooks, resources (apps), and supplies before the start of the school year. The Re-Enrollment Installment is not refundable.
Family Service Requirement
As part of their financial commitment, each St. Clare School family is required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of service to the school per school year. All hours must be completed and submitted via Parentsquare by June 15. (Single parent families, as approved by administration, are required a minimum of 15 hours of service per school year.) Hours left unfulfilled by June 16 of each year will be billed via TADS at a rate of $40 per hour.
Extended Care Fees & Additional Fees
Extended Care services are optional, and fees are charged only when services are utilized via subscription or drop in rate. A link to sign up will be made available in August for families to identify their need for services. Extended Care services are only offered when school is in session.
Additional fees cover student or family participation for optional events and programs such as student athletics, hot lunch, yearbook, certain electives, transportation fees, social activities, camps, and others. These fees are assessed based on program cost and are collected from participating families throughout the school year.

Additional Terms & Conditions
The tuition and fees stipulated above do not fully cover the cost of educating a student at Saint Clare School. In addition to meeting financial obligations, families are responsible for contributing to the life of the community by participating in various activities and events, volunteering services to the school and financially supporting the school’s fundraising and development efforts.
Saint Clare School reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of its tuition & fees at any time.
Tuition Assistance
Saint Clare School recognizes that receiving a Catholic education is an important value for our families. Every year, we create an operating budget that is balanced and as fair as possible. We are aware that our support comes from our families and our community.
We also understand that the cost of a Catholic education is a substantial investment for many of our families. Some families cannot afford to pay the full cost of tuition and, for these families, we may be able to offer limited financial assistance.
Receiving Tuition Assistance
Any family wishing to receive financial assistance for Tuition or Cool Kids Zone must apply for it each year. To apply, you must complete the application forms, provide required financial documents (such as W-2 forms, tax returns for your entire household, etc), and pay a processing fee. Incomplete applications cannot be considered for financial assistance. Contact the school office at (408) 246-6797 or stclare-office@dsj.org.
Every family interested in receiving assistance must complete the application process each year.
